Reiji is a private investigator who specializes in solving grisly murder cases. He used to be a police detective, but after the tragic death of his fiancée, he left the force. Now, he runs a detective agency in Shinjuku, taking on some of the city's most brutal crimes. Reiji lives with his younger sister, Yukari, in Suginami, though he's rarely home because he's so focused on his work. Despite his tough exterior, Reiji is a bit of a history buff. When he's not on the job, he loves diving into history books, a passion he likely inherited from his late parents, who were both scholars. Their home is filled with a massive collection of historical books and documents. In the first episode, Reiji goes undercover as a history teacher at Ouba Girls Academy to investigate a series of mysterious student disappearances, following a request from the school's vice-principal. Nishizono Yui's best friend. As a result, she often runs into Yukari and the rest of the art club members. Became rather depressed after Yui disappeared, and as a result, doesn't talk to others much. Ayumu's a female student aspiring to be a detective assistant and is Yukari's junior. Her fervent sense of justice and androgynous charm have earned her popularity among her peers. While she is determined to pursue her dream, the path to becoming a detective assistant is not straightforward, especially as it requires Reiji's consent, which she has yet to secure. Currently, she's thoughtfully contemplating her next steps to pursue her ambition.
