Ability: Random Diary - Gives a detailed explanation of his surroundings very accurately whether it be the present or the future written from his own point of view. However, the main disadvantage of the Random Diary is that it doesn't tells him what is happening to himself which leaves him vulnerable. The protagonist of the series, Yukiteru is an antisocial boy who loves writing everything around him down to his phone diary. Yuki is most well known for his crybaby personality. He also has a tendency to cower while in battle, usually relying on Yuno for protection. He lacks confidence and is usually submissive to confrontation. He is well aware of and fears Yuno's insanity regarding him, but has a strong desire to keep her sane, often forgiving her for her mistakes and keeping her from murdering others. Initially, he has little desire to become a god and wishes to end the game without killing anyone.

Ability: Yukiteru Diary - Yukiteru's condition and actions are recorded every ten minutes and it also provides small commentary made by Yuno in some of the entries. However, it does not show Yuno's future at all—her condition, situation, or surroundings—unless it somehow involves Yuki. The main female character of Mirai Nikki. Yuno's personality is ambiguous. For the most part she is a sweet, feminine, and sometimes shy girl when around Yukiteru. However this masks her dark and sanguinary side—a ruthless, cold and calculating psychopath who has little, if any, problem in using others for her ends: her and Yukiteru's survival. She will resort to cruel and usually violent methods, most of the time coming out of nowhere, that generally end in bloody deaths, of either the Diary Holder or any respective follower, effectively making her a Yandere. She also has some proficiency in using weapons such as axes and scissors.

Ability: Claivoyance Diary - Unlike the other Diaries, Tsubaki's diary is a long, green scroll. It predicts her future through her followers' eyes, which gives her great control of her surroundings and any area her followers are in. Her diary can also record near events; the short-term future that will occur after only a few seconds away from the present. However, it can pose as a hindrance in times where a situation changes constantly or when she needs to react quickly. Tsubaki is the High Priestess and Oracle of the Omekata Religion. Her followers know her as the Sacred Eye because of her supposed powers of clairvoyancy, although this was actually granted to her by her Future Diary. Because she has poor vision, she has had to spend her entire life living in the Omekata temple. Tsubaki is a polite, considerate and friendly girl who fears for her life. She is quite intelligent and relies on her own intuition, believing Yuno will be Yuki's undoing.

Azami is a generally rude person, mainly to the other diary owners, but is generally kind to her sister Kasumi. However, she can be social towards other people as well, including some of the diary owners. She's extremely overprotective of her sister and treats her like a daughter and will consider anyone who threatens to harm her, an enemy. Her motive for participating in the battle royale is to have revenge on Takao Hiyama, who attempted to murder Kasumi.
