A first-year student who transferred into Amatsuchi Academy during this awkward time of year that can be called neither spring nor summer. (Although he himself isn't very aware of it, accepting a transfer student is an exception among exceptions, the first since Amatsuchi Academy was founded.) Until this spring, he lived in Tokyo, Japan. Both of his parents were involved in the investigation of Amatsuchi, while he himself was born in Yozuha. When he was young, he lost his parents in an accident while they were investigating Amatsuchi, and was taken in by his grandmother (his father's mother), who lived in Tokyo, so he has no memories of that time. Because of those circumstances, he doesn't have a very good impression of Amatsuchi. His family has run a swordsmanship dojo for generations, and his father also made use of those skills while active in Amatsuchi. He himself is also highly skilled with the sword (his grandmother was his teacher). Since he is fundamentally and decisively out of sync with the seasoned adventurers, he is often teased and messed with. Although highly skilled with the sword, he's generally ill-fated, and just a little unfortunate.

That's exactly what she is. Her name was given to her by the adventurer who excavated her. She has no memories from before awakening in this era. She is an utterly good-hearted girl, kind to a fault and easily pressured. As the ace of Sentinel, the academy's security organization (something like a vigilante corps), she protects the peace of the academy day after day. Her main job is to pyuun over whenever a reckless adventurer gets into trouble. In fact, there are countless adventurers whose lives she has saved. Her saintly conduct and shining goodness are enough to tame even the most scumbag adventurers (without her realizing it). Contrary to her appearance, she is incredibly strong. Her personality is the complete opposite of rough or uncouth, possessing a refinement one would not expect from an adventurer. She almost never behaves arrogantly (meaning: she does, once in a while). Rather, she is charming in a puppy-like way. As for herself, she is of absolutely no use in adventures. She is the symbolic figure of the club, possessing countless legendary, outrageous stories. Incidentally, every single one of those outrageous stories (abbreviated as mucha-epi) is true. Possessing both abundant experience and ability, she is the current No. 1 adventurer. Since she is outrageous and completely over-the-top in all sorts of ways, she is feared even by her fellow adventurers. She's a giant "swelling" that nobody wants to touch. She is almost never seen in the academy buildings. For that matter, she hardly even returns to the mainland on the opposite side of the island. One of the academy's old-timers, and by now a highest-year student for the ●th time. She never appears to be active as an adventurer, but she is extraordinarily knowledgeable about all sorts of things related to the ruins. For the time being, she is the sole club president of the Gourmet Club, whose motto is to serve dishes made using only ingredients originating from Amatsuchi. Dragon Steak, the restaurant she runs, is always bustling with adventurers. (The restaurant's name comes from her wish to "someday try cooking a dragon.") Everyone's dependable older sister. In fact, she takes very good care of others. The fact that she treats the solitary No. 1 adventurer, Nanami Nagi, like an underling alone shows just how unfathomable she is. Her hobby is cooking, and her specialty is cooking as well. She is extremely serious about cooking, and the ingredients change drastically depending on what comes in that day. A second-year student at Amatsuchi Academy. She came to Amatsuchi Academy together with Lisette Albert, having been employed by her. Her actual age is a little older than Lisette's. She has accumulated a fair amount of experience as a working adult (including in rough work), and is well versed in handling firearms, combat, and commanding a group. (Incidentally, under Yozuha's laws, firearms are legal "only for use within the ruins.") She is recognized by everyone as the de facto commander of the Lisette Paladin Order. "Run away and I'll kill you. Betray us and I'll kill you. Start flirting, and of course I'll kill you." The rules of the Order that she decided on by herself are practically on the level of the Shinsen●. Combined with her cool demeanor, she tends to give those around her the impression of being cold-hearted, but she is held in high esteem within the Order. Aside from activities with the Order, she doesn't socialize with anyone, but she is basically always together with Lisette. Originally, the Newspaper Club is a peaceful and tranquil organization directly under the Public Relations Bureau, but she's an outlier... or rather, something like that. With the goal of "exposing the dark side of Amatsuchi Academy," she spends her days pursuing suspicious activities. Her basic stance is essentially, "If it's something that can be used to bash the higher-ups, anything goes." In fact, she's covered everything from corruption, to suspicious flows of money, to eyewitness accounts of aliens—her repertoire is extensive. Her current favorite is the theory that "Yozuha is being controlled by aliens through Amatsuchi." Since she's completely serious about it, that only makes her even more... (omitted). Perhaps because there are quite a few people around the world who resonate with her, the channel she streams on by herself is extremely popular. Reckless reporting, trouble with adventurers, outrageous theories built on nothing but speculation... Thanks to one screw-up after another, she's constantly under the watchful eye of the academy's higher-ups, but she doesn't pay it any mind. Even the other members of the Newspaper Club, her own colleagues, have resigned themselves to the idea that she'll probably be expelled before long.

The Head of State of the Republic of Yozuha, and the headmaster of Amatsuchi Academy. ...Or so it is said (at first glance), a beautiful girl. Her background and appearance don't match at all, so the protagonist suspects the possibility that she's a body double. She also seems to have had some connection with the protagonist's missing parents, but she continually evades explaining that matter. More of an adult than any other adult, and possessing more mysteries than anyone else. Publicly, the Head of State of Yozuha is regarded as an unknown figure, and there are very few people who know what she looks like. Around the protagonist, Takamori is about the only one. Besides assigning Takamori to the protagonist as his guide around Amatsuchi, she also helps smooth the way for his new life at the academy in all sorts of ways.

He loves his friends, protects the weak, and cannot tolerate injustice, a man among men (at least in spirit). A fair amount of time has passed since he hatched from the egg, but at the very least, there has been no visible growth in his appearance. He was sent to serve as the protagonist's guide, and is currently living and eating together with him. He isn't of much use, but one way or another, he and the protagonist have developed a friendship.
