Because he has no interest in anything outside of magic, he is considerably naive and detached from the world. He has an extreme sister complex and has resolved to do anything for the sake of his little sister. And that is the very reason why he cannot escape from the Houzuki family. B.E.G. Letter and Prayer (手紙と祈り) A fountain pen that grants an object the properties of a name when that name is written onto it. For example, if you carve the word "Cat" into a piece of wood, a wooden cat is born and will begin to move around freely.
