Basically the typical protagonist. He generally finds things a hassle and has strong tendency to slack off. Acts cool, but is actually the caring type who sticks his nose into other people's business. He wants a girlfriend, but definitely enjoys mucking about with his buddies as well. His family of four also includes his grandfather Genzaburou, his father Ryuuichirou and his mother Machiko. As of late, however, his father has been going offshore fishing frequently, so he is rarely home. An ill-fated protagonist, for as he a relatively decent person, he finds himself treated as the plaything of his group.

She is the protagonist's classmate and also Shin'ichi's cousin. Her family are tangerine farmers as well as major landowners with ownership of a single mountain. She has a calm demeanor but is nevertheless a hard worker who gives her all. She minds her manners and rarely loses her temper. What she lacks in agility, she makes up for in considerable endurance and strength. She can do anything as well as the average person, but only because of her daily efforts. She is the honor student type who stays clear of doing "bad things." She serves as a mediator who can gently make both pushy girls and frivolous guys alike settle down, one way or the other.

Opening the window in the protagonist's room reveals a direct view of her room's window, so even the protagonist himself has come to somewhat accept that there's no getting away from this relationship. He is the protagonist's toxic friend #1 and a cousin to Shinobu. He is tall and good-looking, and so quite popular, but... he "wants to be everyone's Shin'ichi," thus won't get any girlfriend in particular. Anyway, he has a playboy mentality and seems to quite seriously hold the idea that "all fine girls are mine." He too fell in love at first sight with Aoi who had transferred. He persistently professes his love to her over and over again. He is quite skilled and able to perform any task you throw at him. He is a narcissist who is quite obsessed with living stylishly. Her cousin Shinobu is actually the only one he wants to protect. In fact, the reason why he goes this far to act cool is due to him wanting to show off to her.

He is the protagonist's toxic friend #2 and Nami's blood-related older brother. Hopelessly nerdy to the core, he is a multifaceted otaku who gets involved in everything, including eroge, cosplay, doujinshi, anime, tokusatsu and figurines. He has next to no interest in real girls, save for her younger sister Nami whom he has the hots for (outdated term.) * In reality she is his blood-related sister, so marriage is out of the question. Nevertheless, he seems fond of over-the-top eroge-like situations and is truly a guy with sexual harassment in his nature. His nerdiness knows no bounds, and while he acts all highbrow, he does have an extreme masochist side to him. He keeps getting ridiculed by his young sister Nami, but keeps wild hope that it will one day turn into an immoral relationship, the kind that breaks EOCS regulations. He has no intention of succeeding the family ryokan, instead he begs for allowance and focuses on hoarding goods. Yet strangely enough, he has a special personality that is hard to hate.
