The main protagonist in 11eyes. He and his sister were orphaned in their youth, and went to an orphanage where they first met Yuka. After his older sister committed suicide ten years prior to the main storyline, Kakeru felt that his life was empty. This was later filled by Yuka and his new friends he met in high school. He has heterochromia and wears an eyepatch over his right eye, known as the eye of Aeon, which holds what seems to be the power of precognition, and also allows the bearer to assimilate all the memories and abilities of the countless previous bearers. It shows him images of Vlad, an ancient King of Drasuvania who also apparently possessed the eye. He is able to use his right eye in battle to predict and counter his opponent's moves.

It is Liselotte who is the master of the "Red Night". After her home city was burned down, Lisette was kidnapped, raped and almost killed as a child by an enemy army. Left to die on the side of the road, she was greeted by a mysterious person who implanted the Voidstone inside her body; the demonic power contained inside turned her into a powerful immortal being, and the combined hatred of herself towards the world and of the Voidstone's power turned her into Liselotte. Many years later, she met and fell in love with Vlad, but when he was betrayed and assassinated, Liselotte swore revenge and was determined to destroy the world to build it anew as per Vlad's death wish. In 1945, Liselotte's plans were stopped by the Punishment Squad of the Index organisation. She was sealed away by the squad's leader, Georgius, and the Voidstone inside her was split into 7 fragments; one remained inside her, while the other six were scattered across parallel dimensions and fused with humans, the mains characters of the story. While sealed, Liselotte's loss of power caused her to revert back to Lisette.

Over eighty years prior to the events of 11eyes , Misao was well-known in the Kusakabe clan as the strongest woman and possessed two of the Kusakabe Seven Swords, Onikiri and Kumokiri. In one of her travels, she became an unofficial member of Georgius' Punishment Squad, and fell in love with him. In 1945, she helped them fight Liselotte, until Georgius sacrificed himself to seal her, making her as the only survivor of the battle. Afterwards, she used her magic to revive all the members of the squad by binding their souls to the area's energy, with the side effect of turning them into humanoid monsters and transforming herself into a similar form. With all that done, her and Georgius' new goal was to guard Liselotte's prison and prevent her from awakening again.
