An orphan who shares a friendly rivalry with Reiji dating back to their time in the same orphanage. He has witnessed incessant war and suffering during travels with his foster father and now bears a deep hatred for "evil". Ryuuichi is as dense as he is stubborn for justice, reflecting any female affections like a wall. In battle, his hair becomes blond and his eyes turn green due to him infusing the power of lightning with himself. He is able to move in the speed of light and can deal lightning-based attacks.

He is your “average” teenager with an unfortunate past. A level-headed free thinker who deeply cares for those close to him and is easily agitated should they come in harm's way. One of his trademark traits is him fiddling with his hair whenever he is thinking. He is the last Mahoutsukai who awakened his powers when his life was at risk. He is referred to as the "Missing Number 13". Because he was the last one to awaken his true potential, Reiji has no knowledge of magic at all. To make up for his lack of experience, his Magical Weapon of Tactical Destruction, Sakura, provides him the information he needs about his opponents. Even though he lacks battle experience, his brawls with his childhood friend, Ryuichi, allows him to adapt in his situation during battles. In addition, the amount of mana he has is extraordinary, to the point where he may surpass all the other mahoutsukais. Hence, he is deemed an "Irregular" in Ragnarok. With the ability to summon anything in the 24 hours timeframe, he is not suited for battle. However, he is excellent as a battle support that can heal or summon allies to the front lines.

She is very athletic as she is good at every sport in school. Supposingly, she is the same age as Reiji. She doesn’t talk much; but when she does, her messages are direct and to the point. She has a very large rivalry against Momiji, as the two of them never agree with each other. But when they do, it comes off as a one time situation. The two of them constantly get into fights or arguments the moment they meet each other eye to eye. After having awakened as a mahoutsukai, Sayuki uses her powers to help various people living in the island in the shadows. She is known as the "Guardian Goddess of Tsukiyomi-jima Island". By helping a lot of people, she has kept them away from troubles involving supernatural powers. Sayuki takes pride in her battle experience when dealing with magic or other mahoutsukais. She is considered a combat expert with her abilities. Using her abilities wisely, Sayuki is able to implement magic into her own body and use it to increase her speed at a godlike level. As long as the target is a living object, a monochrome devil's bullet shot by Sayuki's weapon is said to be unavoidable by any other skill.

Likes animal but animals don’t like her for some reason. Sitting in the sun while dazing off is her daily life. Clumsy, but a heart warming character that bears the power to destroy an entire planet. Summoned by Reiji, Sakura is a "Strategic Destruction Magic Weapon" that uses sunlight-fueled attacks. Sakura is a spirit that takes form of a human girl that is good at both attack and defense by converting sunlight into magic. Although she is a spirit, Sakura is able to fight in battles using her human body to use powerful magic attacks. In addition, because she is an autonomous weapon, Sakura is able to fight independently in battles without her user, Reiji. Her last resort mythical magic shines more dazzling than the sun itself, however, its destructive powers is enough to destroy the world. Therefore, she keeps this power hidden.

A mischievous, confident, and bold classmate who has hit on Reiji due to "love at first sight". After Reiji transferred into her class, Momiji believed it was fate that brought her closer to him. Since then, she has been continuing to approach him earnestly. When the people closest to her are in harm's way, Momiji's personality takes a complete 180 turn and becomes cold-hearted and cruel like that of the devil himself. A genius and probably could get top grades at school if she tried, though she refuses to confirm it. Although she has no real battle experience, she has a unique battle sense as she is able to adapt to the situation. With the ability to disrupt her opponent's strategies, Momiji's battle style is very similar to Reiji where she changes her attack styles based on the situation to make up for her lack of battle experience. Her abilities reflect her own character, and her versatility in battle allows her to create various strategies. For her, it can be said that conversations during battle is one of her weapons. Momiji's weapon is a system consists of seven crystals hovering behind her, giving the impression of a pair of wings. Each crystal bears the Latin name of a sin in the seven cardinal sins and can shoot out flashes with the same colors. The penetrating beams moves at light speed, making it difficult for a normal human to evade. When the beams hit, Momiji's opponent will be affected by the crystal's special power, which is reducing a sense corresponding to the sin that hit.

Cheerful, open, and friendly, she is straightforward like a sword. Thus Reiji and Momiji like to poke fun at her naïve-niceness. She has a very large appetite, and as well as a large bust, which Momiji teases with. In battle, Nagisa's hair turns blondish sliver and her eyes turns into amber. Her hair ribbons fall off, letting her long hair down. Nagisa's sword no longer retains its black shell, and is evolved into a new golden sword named Svafrlami.
