The protagonist of the story, a 22 years old fourth-year college student. Born into an ordinary family, and possesses a few talents. Due the his athletic skill and his talent in just about anything, he is often relied on by those around him. In June, during his fourth year at his college, he is an honors student who has already got a job offer from a large company. Since childhood, for many years, he has been in love with his younger sister Haruka. "To protect the gentle smile of Haruka, our family and the world have to recognize our relationship, so us siblings can be tied together." To fulfill this wish, he has devoted himself since elementary school, searching for the means (Answer) alone. In his mind, one is an adult who must face a rational logic and the reality, on the other, a child who cannot forget his feelings for his sister, contrary to his calm appearance, his mind is extremely unstable. He hates the world for not approving of their relationship, just because "they are siblings", and no other reason. Moreover, while he is convinced that he truly loves his sister, he has to give up because it might bring sorrow to her, still, he despises himself more than the world itself for not being able to give up completely.

When she finds "someone lonely" at the club, she uses her body to heal them. During her work at the club, she meets Kei, who reluctantly goes there with his friend. The heroine of the story, Kei's younger sister, a third-year student at the school where Kei used to attend. Since she was raised in the comfort of her kind parents and an older brother, she is mild-mannered and well-behaved. Even though she is the younger sibling, she is generous and honest at heart, except when being spoiled by her older brother. If she does something wrong, she always admit it honestly. She always follows her parents' discipline, her gifted intelligence, and the back of her strong-willed (on the surface) brother, so she is also strong-willed, mature and able to face the reality. Her personality is more admirable than at the present. "I'm in love with my brother, but our relationship has gone cold." She acts coldly towards Kei, however, this is only on the surface. Ever since she was a child, her brother is always in her mind. She believes that the strength of her feelings is real and not on a whim. Even if her parents judge her, her feelings would not waver at all. At the moment, in order to get close to her brother during their cold relationship period, she intentionally forgets her umbrella on rainy days and asks for him to come pick her up, along with using various other means, calling them coincidences. She is quarter-Dutch, with a Dutch grandmother. She is very mysterious and even the observant Kei cannot fathom what is going on in her mind. Like her father and herself, she comes from a family of doctors with intellectual backgrounds. However, Iko is especially talented and surpasses the rest of her family when it comes to intellect. Being a genius and a hardworker, as well as possessing the good looks she inherited from her mother, many people have high expectations for her future.
