Despite appearances, her hobbies include cooking and embroidery. Aya is old enough to remember the experiences she shared with her father before he was killed in the car accident. She has always suspected the official account given for his death was a sham but could not find concrete evidence. Her fun-loving personality is her attempt at rebelling against the customs of her family. The only member of the Mikados to warmly welcome Aoyama to the mansion prior to his participation in the rite, her friendly personality extends to the household servants such as Tadokoro with whom she would share snacks and play Shogi with at his hut.

The current head of the Mikado clan who invites Aoyama Yoshito to spend the night in the mansion after he stumbles upon it by chance at night. She has the stature and bearing befitting the head of a powerful and influential family, but in private is a quiet and refined woman. Fumika was widowed at the age of 24 after her husband Mikado Kouji (神門 浩司) died in a car accident. All three of her children are really the offspring of incestuous union with her father Heizo, in line with the Mikado clan's long standing custom of inbreeding to preserve the purity of the bloodline. Fumika herself was raped by her elder brother Kazuo years before the ceremony which selected her future husband. In line with the clan tradition, it is Heizo who wields the real power within the household with Fumika little more than a figurehead for public appearances. Although she is in her early 40s, she has the appearance and figure of a much younger woman because of the concoctions prepared by Tatewaki Rei made from the organs of children abducted from the surrounding area. She is slightly old-fashioned in her tastes and is unable to comprehend why her daughters and mansion guests are so enamoured with modern technological amusements. Her hobbies include reading and playing the piano (her favourite piece is "The Maiden's Prayer" by Bądarzewska). She was also a capable horse-rider and clay-shooter until her family used alcohol to wean her off the pursuits. A closet romantic who has killed her emotions for decades, Fumika cares for her daughters deeply and will do anything to provide them with happiness.

The youngest of the three Mikado daughters, she is home-schooled and has never ventured beyond the mountain grounds. An avid bibliophile who has read through all of the contents of the Mikado clan library collection. She's also interested in fortune telling and astronomy, the observatory with its giant telescope within the mountain is a favourite haunt of hers. Another product of the incestuous union between Heizo and Fumika, she was the older surviving twin while her younger brother was stillborn. She is the current Miko (神子) able to commune with the Gods through dreams. Ririka is forbidden to leave Yugoshi mountain as her powers are lost once she leaves the territory; as a result she's extremely curious about the outside world and treasures company from the outside world. Heizo frequently uses her for seances to divine the future, but she has no memory of these nocturnal events afterwards.

The middle daughter of the Mikado clan, she is given permission from her university to return home for the duration of the rite. Haughty and arrogant, she will only acknowledge individuals of worth with all others either beneath her concern or ruthlessly exploited as tools. The closest in personality of the Mikado females to her grandfather (biological father) Heizo, she yearns for the freedom to marry the spouse of her choice and is willing to plot the downfall of candidates participating in the rite who are obstacles to her desires. She freely admits she is starved of affection as her father Kouji died before she could spend meaningful time with him. After his death her mother grew cold and distant and her grandfather encouraged her inflated sense of self-worth whilst eyeing her up as his next child-bearing candidate.

Polite and approachable, the Mikado household's sole maid is also responsible for the household meals. Her cooking repertoire is quite diverse with dishes including frog's legs and tortoise shell stew in addition to more conventional meals. She frequently uses the kitchen late at night to experiment with new dishes until they are of an acceptable standard to serve the Mikado masters. Orie's parents were servants at the Mikado household and together with her younger brother she assisted with the household chores until she was old enough to assume more important responsibilities on her own. She has never been to school but is very skilled at her tasks because of the spartan training endured under Heizo. Yuri frequently abuses Orie through physical beatings and coercion to sexual acts with other household staff. Orie hates Yuri and the other abusive Mikado members enough to kill them, but her conditioning was complete enough to compel her to suffer in silence. Orie will go to great lengths to help Ririka escape the mansion after the rite. Ririka saved Orie from a certain death at Heizo's hands which led to Orie being charged with caring for Ririka's daily needs. They became friends despite their master-servant relationship and share hobbies such as reading girls' magazines. After learning about most of the secrets of the Mikado household and the visit of Yoshito's professor prior to the start of the rite, she feels she has to entrust Yoshito with Ririka's fate as he is the only person she trusts amongst the participants. Despite appearances, Orie is actually older than Yoshito and can easily pass for a high-school student should she choose to do so.

She is absolutely loyal to the Mikado household and will execute any command given by the clan heads without question. Originally an orphan from beyond Japanese shores, she was bought by Heizo when he chanced upon her on a business trip and brought to Japan as his possession. Her name is the one she adopts after being bought by Heizo. She is also well-versed in medicine and is responsible for concocting the unguents ingested by Heizo and Fumika as well as improving their efficacy through use of freshly procured body parts from kidnapped children. Her loyalty is to Heizo alone despite her pact with Maruyama during the rite; she obeys Fumika's instructions and serves her faithfully as a secretary but is well aware Fumika is little more than a puppet under Heizo's domination. She derives pleasure when treated as an object rather than a human and cannot be sexually aroused unless she is denigrated and abused by sexual partners. Rei is quite happy to engage in orgies with the male household staff after berating them in the daytime as a way to "release stress". Her sole hobby is collecting more knowledge to create more potent aphrodisiacs and unguents, which is her main motive for working in concert with Maruyama without Heizo's knowledge (although she has no intention of betraying Heizo).

The events in Ririka's bad ending route hint he stumbled into the shrine where the previous Miko was kept and lost his mind at the sight of her. He isn't interested in winning the rite but spends his time trying to find the location of the Mikado clan's secret treasure. An impostor whose real name is Kawamura Shinya (川邑 信也), a private investigator who was best friends with the now-deceased Mikado Kouji. He infiltrates the mansion in disguise in hopes of exposing the truth behind his friend's death (the disguise is so good it fools Aya whom he spent time with when she was younger). He confronts Heizou with evidence proving his friend's cuckolding and is forced to leave the mansion before the rite is complete to avoid being killed by the Mikado household.

The CEO of a company which he founded and turned into a success under his watch, he is invited to participate in the rite in recognition of his business acumen. Supremely confident of his chances and dismissive of the other candidates, he sees the Mikado daughters as objects of sexual gratification. The exiled older son of Mikado Heizou whose real name is Mikado Kazuo (神門 和男). He raped his younger sister and was disowned by Heizou as a result. He is aware of Heizou's physical condition and has a secret pact with Rei who will support him from behind the scenes during the rite in return for his supply of fresh human organs. Although his personality is practically identical to that of his father, he sees no need to maintain the family tradition of producing and maintaining Miko for their divination gifts. His goal after reclaiming his place in the Mikado clan is to take revenge on his father for the years of humiliation and claiming everyone and everything under Mikado control as his personal possession. Maruyama uses sex as a means of exerting dominance over inferior individuals, hence he is just as comfortable raping his blood relations as he is raping underage boys. Despite appearances, Maruyama is covered more by muscle than fat and is capable of surviving stab wounds that would kill most humans.

The previous head of the Mikado clan, he effectively forces Yoshito to participate in the rite to determine the husband for one of his granddaughters. A staunch traditionalist with a peculiar viewpoint to fine art. The product of centuries of clan inbreeding, Heizou rules the clan with an iron fist and actively promotes the clan custom of inbreeding to guarantee the birth of a Miko which will ensure the eternal prosperity and influence of the Mikados. His older sister was the previous Miko but has already devolved into a sanity-shredding monstrosity; his granddaughter (daughter) Ririka is the current Miko whom he treasures as a divination tool. The current rite is a charade to invite his exiled son back into the family fold as a guarantee that the bloodline will not die out. Heizou has become sterile because of his age and despite the attempts of Rei to rejuvenate him with improved potions from the Mikado apothecary knowledge base. His son is now the only hope of maintaining the bloodline and the family custom of inbreeding which is why it is arranged beforehand that Kazuo will win the rite provided he is present when the results are proclaimed. He is very willing to permanently silence anyone who discovers the family secrets and will use the clan's wealth and influence to ensure the general public remains oblivious to foul play on Mikado grounds.

Usually tasked with physically subduing intruders or mansion guests who have learned too many secrets. Usually posted in front of Heizou's private quarters when he's busy with women to ward off potential intruders and ensure the secret passageways are not accessed to spy on Heizou's actions. Loyalty to household overrides loyalty to family and he has no qualms using full force against women.

A magician who taught Heizou the rituals to commune with the Gods through the Miko, he is obsessed with the creation of a God of his own using the stillborn foetus of Ririka's younger brother and feeding the mass of meat with the hair and nails he collects. Most of the Mikado family and the household staff abhor his presence with the sole exception of Mikado Aya. He is happy to repay the years of kind treatment she bestowed on him through mass murder of all mansion inhabitants using a pair of gardening shears, even burning the mansion down after placing the corpses in a huge pile underground to avoid forensic investigation.
