She dated Souma when they were still students. When they graduated, Souma went overseas, and eventually, Ayana wanted to break up, which ended their relationship. Originally, she was supposed to be the successor of Oukadou, but since she wasn't as interested in making Japanese confectioneries as Tomomi, she handed over the right to her younger sister, who is very enthusiastic in making sweets. When they were students, she was worried about Souma's teeth because of his fondness for anything sweet, and thus she decided to pursue a career related to dentistry. She's the successor to their family business, Japanese confectionery "Oukadou". Their main store is near Souma's hometown, and she's acquainted with Souma since her childhood. Currently, she's attending a famous high school, and is taking a culinary course. She's also the poster girl of Oukadou. Recently, they opened a branch store near Souma's atelier/office. She and her sister Ayana moved to the city at the same time their store opened for business. They live together as of the moment. She helps at the store during her day offs, and there she met Souma once again. Since she plan to succeed Oukadou in the near future, she studies not only Japanese confectionery, but also Western and some others. She knew that her sister dated Souma, but even so she loves him for the longest time.

A rookie painter. Because of her reserved personality, she has a hard time engaging in conversations with others. However, she becomes very active when she paints, that she's like a different person. She devotes herself to art, and so when she starts painting, she tends to neglect her meals and the like. Even if she manages to save up some money, she uses it to replenish her art supplies, and so she's barely able to buy stuff necessary to live. To have some money for living, or rather for buying art supplies, she worked various part time jobs before, but for some reason, she doesn't last long.
