This game's protagonist. Lost his mother when he was young. His father later on married Misako, who was his swimming instructor. However his father passed away as well, and now he lives alone with Misako. At some point, he quit swimming, but he doesn't want to think about his reason behind it. Because he's used to calling Misako as "Misako-san", he's still unable to call her "mom". He thought of taking a part time job in order to buy Misako a present to show his gratitude for all she has done for him.

Soon after, Taito's father died, and so right now, Misako and Taito lives together. Serious and gentle, she loves Taito as if he was her own child, but she's a bit overprotective. Since Taito doesn't call her "mom", shes worried that he doesn't see her as his mother. When Taito told her that he wants to work part-time, she was against it at first, but thought that it's fine if she can watch over him, so she offered him a job at her swimming school.
