The protagonist. His mother remarried Tatsuo giving him a new step father and step sister. He passionately hates his new father. He starts out with a crush on his sister Konoha but she rejects him saying that siblings can't become lovers. Because people only call him by his given name we never learn if he adopts his step-father's name, Ichijou.

Ryuya and Konoha's cousin and Atsuko's niece. She's been friends with their family since childhood. She knows Ryuya has a crush on his sister Konoha but hopes that by confessing to him first she can become his lover.

Ryuya and Konoha's mother. A widow, she marries Tatsuo because she believes her children need a father. She primarily takes care of the Ichijou household.
